Original Hock Lam Street Beef Kway Teow @Orchard, Ion

Another affordable eat in town, Teow Chew Beef Noodles!
If you're a beef noodles lover, you will love this place. There's also rice if you are in need of more carbo.

If you prefer dry, the soup is extremely fragrant. If you prefer dry, I am glad to let you know the sauce is very rich. Both of them are very tasty!

No wonder, as the soup is home-made, boiled for 24 hours with herb base. The chillies are good as well. The beef is one of the most tender ones we've tried. It is because they are sliced (not machine cut), and hence even if it was overcooked, if would not be as hard as those in hawker centres.

It is a very simply decorated place, no frills. You get to use an iPad to order your food, which is pretty slick and you get to peruse the menu at your own pace without servers hovering around. You get to choose what kind of noodles to mix and match, down to removing what kind of ingredients you do not want in your dish. After we submitted our order, the food was served very quickly. We tried the Beef ribeye and brisket slices, Beef balls and ribeye Slices in both dry and soup variations. We love both of them, though you may request for a bit of lime to add an edge to it. Look at the meat in the photos, yep, it's still reddish, very much to our liking.

Side dishes are not very expensive as well. We tried the Tendons and they were really tender too.

Try out their Wagyu Fried Buns. It's $2 per piece, $9.90 for 4 pieces. If you just want to try, just get 2. Anyway that 10 cents difference is quite... negligible. You will probably notice that the sauce used in the bun in the same as the dry sauce used in the noodles. The bun is fried to a golden-brown, to the right crisp. The beef, tender, too.

If you're tired of all that Western dishes in town, give this place a go.
