Pool Grill @Orchard

24 April 2016

A re-visit to one of my favourite hide-outs in Orchard! Food and service is great as usual.

This restaurant's pretty quiet as usual. If you're looking for somewhere quiet and beautiful to spend some intimate moments, this's the place. Although the pool was under renovation, the lights and view of Orchard made up for its unsightly barricades.

The Prime Society @Dempsey

We've always wanted to visit this place, having heard about their steaks. And here we are today. There are quite a few entrances, and we loved the main one, because there's a fridge with all sorts of meat hanging. The whole interior is what I'd call, grandeur. High ceilings, beautiful glass windows, elegant seats and tables, tasteful decorations hanging around. And, well, lots of fans. It could get a tad windy at certain seats.

The menu is simple and straightforward, the mains are around $30-ish, while the steaks range from $65 to $88, and climbs higher for larger cuts. Surprisingly, they serve pretty affordable wines to go with your steaks and there's a long list of such for you to choose from if you request.

The cute, little bun came first. Yes, one cute, little bun for each of us. With salt and butter, they're good to stop your tummy for growling for awhile.

Jewel Cafe+Bar @Little India, Rangoon Rd

There are a few other outlets in the CBD area, but this one's caught my eye. There've been many other reviews on this place, and hence, we went with quite a bit of expectation. There weren't many people around, quite a few couples and people with their laptops. There's a second storey which we conveniently forgot to explore (ugh) and swore to return to dine there again, because I fell in love with their Foie Gras Risotto ($23)

Oyster Bar & Wine Dining Wharf @Chijmes

Chijmes have changed so much since we've last visited. Or perhaps it's just too long since've last visited. From the outside, it seems really boring, just a few restaurants and that's it, but walking in the courtyard, hey, it is actually a super vibrant dining place.

Wine Connection @Robertson Walk

I love this place- the ambiance, the people, the very affordable food, and of course, the last order for food. The last point is very important to me, as occasionally by the time I finish work, it is too late to sit properly in a restaurant and enjoy food like, if you order at 9pm and they close at 9.30pm, and the servers start bustling around to clear their peppers, salts and what-nots around you when you are still waiting for your dish to arrive.

If you're looking for a late-night dinner, with a craving for steaks (they come with a variety of sauces, even Bleu Cheese!) and pizza below $20, then here's the place.
If it's not too late, I will usually order their tapas for only $5. Their Foie Gras and Apple Tapas is the must-order. Melt-in-the-mouth and always done nicely, this dish never fails to disappoint as a starter.

Steaks!
Cheap, delicious and filling!
